Finding out .exe code?

my friend sent me a .exe code and told me it was some program and i don't believe him because one hes a hacker two he sent me a program once and my cap lock num lock scroll lock and cd drive were all opening and closing so i dont trust him but how would i be able to see the code in a .exe code
