Why did McCain sit down with a Racist yet spoke harshly of Obama because of Rev Wright?

Believe it or not, there is a double standard going on in the election. You are witnessing it with this issue of McCain talking with a racist, and you probably have heard it in dealing with McCain flip flopping on issues. My thing is, when are we going to hold both candidates accountable? Its time that we uphold the standard and not give either candidate special treatment. The media also plays a role in how the candidates are given favor. McCain should not be given any special treatment, or be looked over on issues as these. They are running for the same position and both should be held responsible. If not then, what they are running for is a mockery.
