In such a complex political world what qualifies such detached people from becoming our U.S President ?

This is not directed as a specific critique for any one President, But having participated on Yahoo answers for a period of a week, and having given me a realization of how complex the politics of the world truely is it's mind boggling with energy and war, famine space exploration, religion, engineering and the economy, How is it possible to elect a U.S president that has probably not thought about or investigated these topics with a clear unobstructed mind for any period of time, for only short period of 4 or 8 years with any hope of his or her ability to grasp what they are doing?Then you put them in charge of a country as powerful as the United States, It almost seems like were the ones that are crazy, That was probably ok when there was less Global Involvement but, It almost seems were relying on those who are whispering in the Presidents ear. And how are we ever going to solve our problems like this, We might as well call in a day labor service, What do you think ?
