I need help fixing and sharpening edges on a snowboard.?

Alright. im getting a snowboard off craigst list and its a 5150 board. Its in decent shape, but one problem. The tail has a part where the edge has just peeled off. Its only 40 bucks for hte board and bindings, so its not like i would be loosing money. But is there a way to fix it? Or could i just saw the hanging part off and just ride it? and seal the wood somehow? And any tips for how to sharpen would help. thx.
